NO HISSY FITS, MIND MY MANNERS

Tegan and Sara - Alligator (Toro Y Moi remix)

17 versions of the same song in one handy package. Tegan and Sara released the Alligator EP on Tuesday which along with Sara's original demo, includes remixes by Passion Pit, Four Tet, Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio, and the above from Toro Y Moi, among others. Enough excitement on it's own without their recent announcement of more European dates. If you've already got your ticket we can start the countdown to June together.

Sorry it's been so quiet round these parts for so long, hopefully that will change soon.
Until then... something for anyone still watching the snow fall.

HEY HO LET'S GO

Warchild's 5th album, 'Heroes' will be released on February the 16th with all profits going to the Warchild.org.uk charity. If you have not yet seen the lineup, head on over to the Warchild website and take a look at a highly impressive list of names and covers, including Hot Chip covering Joy Division's 'Transmission', Yeah Yeah Yeah's take on The Ramones' 'Sheena is a Punk Rocker', TV on the Radio cover David Bowie's 'Heroes', and last but by no means least Peaches doing 'Search and Destroy' by the Stooges. Perfect.

BRAND AND SPANKINGLY NEW

TV on the Radio released their third album 'Dear Science,' on the 23rd, but the good reviews were coming in well before that ('a masterful future tableau' etc...). Pick yourself up a copy if you haven't already and be sure to check out 'Family Tree' either way.

This next one came in a little under the radar for me, but Mogwai released 'Hawk is Howling' their 6th studio album on the 22nd. To commemorate this special time, here's 'punk rock:' the opening track from the highly, highly excellent 1999 album, 'Come On Die Young' played over the Iggy Pop interview it samples.

and if you like your guitars loud and your songs lasting upwards of 4 minutes, you really should subscribe to the Mogwai podcast....really (it hasn't been updated in a while, but highly worth it)

and finally, the 22nd also saw the release of Ladyhawke's self titled debut album through Modular Records... prepare to have this song stuck in your head for a long long long long time.
