I might be a little biased with this one. My love for Sleater-Kinney will never die, if you find yourself in a similar state and have a little time on your hands while you wait for the reunion, you should go to Kill Rock Stars and download a free copy of the above or better yet, buy the album 1,000 Trees. That should be enough to fill the empty place in your heart where Corin Tucker's voice once resided but if you find there's still a little gap were Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss once were, exciting plans are afoot.
Good news for anyone who wasn't in the vicinity of Thao and Mirah and The Most of All's tour dates recently, Thao and Mirah are writing a record together! In anticipation of it's release in Spring 2011, a video from their collaborative U.S. tour. Know Better, Learn Faster.
It would seem I am slow to the boat when it comes to Thao but I shall make up for it with this, a Thao extravaganza of most momentous proportions, for those who are already on board and for anyone else still plodding in the general direction.
Thao and the Get Down Stay Down released their new album at the end of last year and named it Know Better, Learn Faster because, "By the time you realize you should, it's too late. And I enjoy the predicament and the totally devastating, unfunny humor of that". If you like the song above or that below, or liked this post, be sure to take a look here or here to find out more. And if you want to put something on repeat in celebration of your new found love head to Kill Rock Stars and download Know Better Learn Faster for free.
